Heather Vanderstelt first joined the St. Joseph’s Health Care team in 2012 and presently offers spiritual care to the staff, clients and their families within the many ambulatory clinics of St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Heather is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, a Certified Spiritual Care Practitioner and Supervisor-Educator (CPE) with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS). She is ordained with the Presbyterian Church in Canada.  Heather has earned a Masters degree in Divinity from Knox College, and an undergraduate in Psychology and Religious Studies from McMaster University.  Heather has a passion for her clinical work as well as engaging in research related to her clinical practice. She has authored a chapter in Psychotherapy: Cure for the Soul (2014) related to Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy and has co-authored an article on Transformational education: exploring the lasting impact of students’ clinical pastoral education experiences (2022).  When not at work, Heather enjoys exploring a variety of creative outlets – anything from dance to camping, from quilting to parenting.
